More about this wine from Colchagua Valley, Chile

The crew at Ventisquero launched its vision for Chilean vino in the early 2000s. The mission was simple and is still in place today: show that vineyards in Chile can produce some of the best wine in the world. The team sought to challenge the status quo that South American wine is overly jammy and high in alcohol. It's now 15+ years later, and the team consistently produces top-notch Pinot Noir, Sauv Blanc, Carménère, and beyond.

Chile may be famous for its world-class Cabs, but if anything, Carménère is its signature wine. The grape may not be a household name like Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, which is why we put together this grape guide. Whiffs of jammy red and black fruit pour out of this bottle. Each sip is a deluxe and delightful concentration of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and cherries that fade into some spice blended with hints of chocolate, tobacco, and vanilla. This Carménère is bold, big, and vivacious, which is exactly how it is supposed to be.

How to drink it

Pro Tip:

You agreed to help your friends move out of their apartment in exchange for several glasses of wine when the deed is done. You honestly regretted your decision until they popped a couple bottles and took this bolognese out of the Instant Pot
