More about this wine from Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany, with its picturesque landscapes and rich history, is the perfect backdrop for crafting wines that capture the essence of the land. And La Maialina Gertrude Toscana Rosso is no exception.

La Maialina, named for Tuscany’s only surviving heirloom breed of pig, creates a stunning lineup of wines from the rolling hills of the same historic and rustic region. For their ‘baby Super Tuscan’ blend, Attilio leaves behind the stringent rules of Chianti winemaking and blends the international varieties of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with the native Sangiovese. It rounds out the flavors and creates a broadly appealing wine that still speaks well of its Tuscan terroir. This plush wine is loaded with ripe fruit and sweet spices underscored with just a kiss of Italian earth.
How to drink it

Pro Tip:

Indulge in a classic Tuscan dish of wide, ribbon-like pappardelle pasta topped with a rich and hearty meat ragu sauce. The robust flavors of the ragu complement the wine's ripe cherry and plum notes.
