More about this wine from Campania, Italy
Let’s just get this out of the way. Falanghina is a grape. In fact, it’s an ancient Greek grape that’s been revived in Italy’s Campania region — the lower to mid-shin of the boot. This grape is flourishing during its artist-in-residence status at the Vadiaperti winery thanks in large part to Mount Vesuvius. When that notorious volcano erupted long ago, it showered what is now winemaker Raffaelle Triosi’s soils with ash, allowing this grape to thrive. And now it’s flexing on its fruity yet delicate, 100 percent Falanghina flavors in this Vadiaperti bottle.
