More about this wine from Coteaux du Giennois, France (Loire Valley)
As usual, Mary Taylor has sourced an incredible French red blend from a vineyard lying a bit north of the famous Loire appellations Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume in the quiet town of Coteaux du Giennois; they’ve been producing wines since the 2nd century but only received an AOP status in 1998. Vintner Alice Berthier and her team work their hillside vineyards’ complex soils of silex, limestone and clay with the utmost respect for the environment by planting grass between rows, encouraging biodiversity, and using natural forms of pest control such as sexual confusion. Yes, you read that right! And this red blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Gamay is a pure delight.
How to drink it

Pro Tip:

Grilled red meats are, of course, fab, but to hit home that French country charm, try some rabbit!
